Afterword and Jam Build Walkthrough


Dev Afterword

This game was built over the span of 10 days (around 3 hrs of dev time per day) for the 2025 RPG Maker Jam with the theme "Beyond Expectations". It was inspired from Limbo and Hollow Knight. I was not able to invest a lot of time due to work and personal life, so do expect some bugs, imbalances, and rushed content in the game. Worth noting that I made the game alone (programming, story, and art) so there were a lot of things to be done in so little time.


For this build, I have disabled game over and removed cooldown from the player's basic actions (melee & ranged attacks) to make it easier for the people and the judges to progress through the game. This won't be the case in the official build (should I decide to continue the game). If you get stuck or confused after getting the fake fragment, read on below if you wish to get some guide.



SPOILERS BELOW! | READ IF YOU'RE STUCK OR CONFUSED AFTER GETTING THE FAKE FRAGMENT

- After getting the fake fragment, the collision of the entire map changes. Previously walkable platforms (the black platforms) are no longer walkable, and the background objects (gate, bed, benches, trees, words) become the new walkable platforms.

- The goal is to destroy all three masks in order to get to the boss battle. 

- Two of the masks are below second respawn point, and the other one is to the left of the map (near the first respawn point)
