(NOTE: This is an MZ game, not a Unite game)

  • The game follows the story of the protagonist who has been stuck in his own cognitive world born from his suppressed emotions. Part of these suppressed emotions is the guilt of having to maintain a fake persona of  himself, in order to put up with the expectations of the people around him. As he navigates his mental landscape, he has to confront distorted reflections of his internal struggle, ultimately prevailing in the end and escaping captivity from his mental prison, which he otherwise thought was impossible in the beginning of his journey.

  • Beyond expectations is also applied in terms of the game's technicalities. The game was made in RPG Maker MZ, a game engine meant to be used to create top down, non-physics type of games. Mental Physics, however, goes beyond the norm and integrates a physics engine to create a platformer type of game. The game features force based movements, dynamic collision & terrains, as well as projectile motions. Something you can't do out of the box with the base engine.
  • The following plugins has made this game possible:
  1. Physics Engine Platformer Plugin for MZ / MV
  2. Animated Message Window for MZ

  • The game features several gotcha moments: invisible traps, collapsing platforms, etc. (Inspired from Unfair Mario)
  • Sections of the map are hidden until you are actually in that certain section which adds some elements of anticipation and unexpectedness.

  • Programming, Story, Art by: coffeenahc (GBRO Games)
  • RTP Assets by: GGG (Gotcha Gotcha Games)

  • This is a work of fiction and is in no way a representation of anyone's life, nor personal views regarding certain sensitive matters.

I love this kind of game. Graphics are alwo amazing. However, I got stuck between a house and a garage and there was no way to break out... This was within the first few minutes of the game.

I tried a double jump with a dash to go from the house to the garage, right before I got stuck. It was clear instantly, that this was not supposed to happen.

Maybe Mom told me how to go from the house to the garage, but honestly I skipped it because there was just too much dialogue for an action game. But that is just personal preference.

Thanks for trying the game.

There are a few areas where the collision box is thin so some glitch happens when force dashing through them. I won't be able to push an update for a hotfix for this until the voting ends, however.

But you were supposed to go back to your room after talking to mom. The garage will then be accessible later.
